Well, we have had a busy week! Ethan is now 3 and Kaylin 1. Thought you might enjoy a few pics of them with their gifts and especially of them eating their birthday cakes!

Ethan with his gifts from Dad and Mom. After choosing the jungle theme for his birthday, he got to choose his helium balloon. The purple monkey doesn't exactly coordinate, but hey, there ARE monkeys in a jungle! ;)
We had Ethan's birthday dinner - (he chose steak, baked potato, and corn on the cob) - then ate cake, followed by opening his gifts.

Ethan liked all of his gifts - but the weed whacker was played with the most that evening. He LOVES to watch Dad mow and weed whack our yard.

Ethan's cake. He chose a jungle theme and was very insistent that there be animals on his cake. Ethan also liked the idea of a triangle cake (it has 3 sides - just like his age). He chose the corner with the Lion for his piece.

Blowing out the candles. This was the first year that Ethan blew them out all by himself.

Ethan eating his birthday cake very properly

"All Done" (He is actually a very neat eater. He DID have some cake on his left hand, but you just can't see it - check out his dirty napkin on the above picture)

Kaylin with her gifts from Dad and Mom.
Dad got home early and we let Kaylin open her gifts BEFORE eating cake. Then, after cake (and the then necessary bath), we had her birthday dinner. She likes just about everything, but we chose chicken nuggets, fries, and broccoli for her meal.

Kaylin loved wearing her hat :)

Kaylin's Birthday Cake (obviously)

"Come here, tasty cake"

"This is good - maybe I should use TWO hands!"

"I think I might have dropped a few precious crumbs"

Drink Break

"That was tasty - What a sugar rush!"

When she was all finished, Kaylin was wearing 1/2 of her Birthday cake :)
