November 08 - O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

What could cause such excitement?...

Our annual day-after-Thansgiving-put-up-the-tree tradition! :)

Ethan's job

Kaylin's job (as of last year)

We had to come up with a job for Krystin this year.
Here she is performing her new traditional job :)

I was surprised by how far up Ethan could reach on the tree this year.

While Ethan dilligently put up the rest of his ornaments (he does have more than the girls, afterall) - the girls played with the "kid" nativity sets.

Ta-Da!
The tree with all the kids' ornaments put on

Of course, the really fun part is laying under the lit tree at night and looking ta the ornaments! :)

October 08 - Halloween

So it has been a month.... but these kids are just too cute to skip pics of them in their Halloween costumes! :)
Here they are on Sunday, October 26th at our church's "trunk or treat" event.

This was so cute. Kaylin found 2 of her preschool friends and they had a great time together.

Had to enclose this photo!

Every year, Dan's work hosts indoor cubicle-to-cubicle trick or treating.
Here the kids are running up to meet Dad.

Every year we go to a local corn maze/pumpkin patch together. This year we were not able to make it until Halloween evening. It actually worked out nicely as during the early evening hours it was not very busy :)

Enjoying the bouncy pillow.
If you can't see Ethan's face - you gotta zoom in!

The cow train

While the girls enjoyed the slides, Dan took Ethan to the pumpkin patch.

What's going on here?

A pig race!
Here I am explaining it to the kids.

Kaylin enjoyed this pedal car

Ethan thinks this picture is great.
"Krystin is pretending to be my wife and I am her husband! ....
But those are not really our clothes.... " :)

The "hay" ride.

Krystin was a little nervous. But fortunately Dad was there for assurance.

Kaylin enjoyed watching the big tractor wheels.

The corn maze.
Which way to go?

Fortunately our fearless leader had a map!

After the corn maze we took the kids to Red Robin for supper.

I guess we wore them out!

October 08 - Guys and Gals Night

On Friday, October 17th, Dan and Ethan went to the church for a showing of Veggie Tales "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". They dressed appropriately. :)

So what were the girls to do?

I decided to introduce them to painted nails.

Kaylin wanted 1 hand pink and the other purple. So Krystin did too :)
Krystin's hands.

Kaylin's hands

Blowing on her nails to help them dry.

I guess this is how big girls whose nails are drying pray.

We then had a pillow fight. I forgot to factor in that their pillows are just about as big as they are... so this is pretty much what it looked like - a belly fight :)

Then to finish the evening off, we borrowed a Strawberry Shortcake video from a neighbor and cuddled on the hide-a-bed .

This was a different day in October - but I though I would insert these 2 pics here.
Kaylin enjoys play-doh.
One day she decided to make a self portrait.

Can you see it?
Hat and hair.....
Ears and Eyes...
Arms, Nose and Mouth...
Body and Legs...

October 08 - Kaylin's Preschool Field Trip

Krystin and I were able to tag along with Kaylin on her Preschool Pumpkin Patch field trip.

Here is most of her class on the hay ride.

Her teacher is pictured as well. Kaylin loves her teacher.

Kaylin is pretty good buds with the boy just to her right. :)

The kids buddied up for the corn maze.

Each child got to pick a pumpkin - as long as they could carry it.

Even Krystin got one.

October 08 - Trip to Dentist

On Thursday, October 30th, I took Ethan and Kaylin to the dentist for the first time.

Here's an X-ray of Sweetie's teeth. I didn't notice at first - but you can see her adult teeth!

Here she is being so brave.

Her bottom teeth got cleaned.....

Ethan did great. So grown up.

See? Getting close to losing teeth. And his 6 year molars are almost all the way in. I didn't even realize you GOT 6 year molars. Sheesh! - I remember the days when I anxiously peered into his mouth for signs of his first tooth? Now he's getting teeth I didnt' even know to expect!

Here he is being so brave waiting for the X-ray.
