Kaylin's 4th Birthday

MAKING THE CAKE

Can you tell we are excited?!

Old enough to crack the eggs

Hmmm... this looks like the perfect lick

Kaylin wanted Banana Bread for her birthday breakfast...

so here she is helping make it :)

Even though the rule is that only YOU get to help make YOUR birthday cake, Kaylin was kind enough to let Krystin help with the breakfast bread :)

The finished cake

(which took longer than expected to "paint" on "Rocket")

And remember that banana bread?....

FAMILY FUN

Kaylin wanted to ride the Carousel at a local fun center

Then they played on a play area for a bit

Air Hockey with Ethan and Dad

The firest coin game she chose

We all did a lot of car racing

(I'm sure the go cart racing high of the previous day played a role - that and both Mom and Dad like racing video games)

Even Krystin got in on the action

Never fear, Dan's High School friends....

He is instructing our boy in the fine arts of fighting the dark side ;)

Mom was able to stop the wheel on "50" tickets.

Kaylin was thrilled :)

Here she is with her amassed 117 tickets.

Ethan and Krystin got in on the ticket machine action

This is the valuable treasure our children spent their tickets on: candy!

Lunch place of birthday girl's choice? McD's

For our nutritious afternoon snack we had birthday cake!!!!
(Kaylin wanted 1/2 of rocket for her piece)

It was so fun to watch her open presents this year. So appreciative and excited.
Here she opened a My Little Pony

And her big gift: Rocket

She kept repeating "The big rocket! The big rocket!"

Supper of HER choice: Tomato Soup and Grilled cheese.
Not a favorite of Mom's - but it was cheap :)

Ethan's 6th Birthday

MAKING THE CAKE

Mixer usage = Happy Boy :)

Hmmm... maybe my finger can get places my tongue can't reach!

Ta-Da!

Birthday Breakfast of Chocolate Chip Pancakes

BIRTHDAY AT SCHOOL

Ethan's birthday fell on a Friday. I was able to surprise him and show up for his recess and snack time. That week he and a classmate were the milk helpers (one of his favorite jobs) - and Fridays is chocolate milk day (another favorite.) (How good God is to care about our little preferences and bless in special little ways :)

This little girl's birthday was the next day, so the class sang happy birthday to both of them at snack time.

In case you can't tell from the pic, we made Lightening McQueen cupcakes.
As I was leaving, Ethan got to be on the computer.

LUNCH AT PIZZA HUT

Dad was at work, but as Ethan had a "Book It" coupon to use up, we went out for a birthday lunch at Pizza Hut. Ethan chose bacon pizza.

Here, Ethan was demonstrating his amazing talent of drinking out of 2 straws at the sametime for "lemonade water".

And of course, there were 2 monkey-see-monkey-dos :)

Here Kaylin is demonstrating the "Pizza Dance"

It's a wonder Krystin ate any pizza as she ate almost all of my ice!

After lunch, we swung by the eye doctor so Mom could adjust my glasses.

Kaylin is demonstrating the "alien eyes" and Ethan is demonstrating the "bug eyes" Krystin was in the toybox and is demonstrating "potato head eyes"

FAMILY FUN

For his birthday celebration, Ethan wanted to ride go-carts.

Ethan and Kaylin LOVED it. (Krystin too short, still)

There was also an indoor play area the kids enjoyed.

2/10 - Ethan loves to be my little (I know I am not going to spell this right) soo-chef :)

Poor Ethan - he's getting too big for the car :(

See video below for live action

And yes, We still suck our thumb - but only at rest time and bed time....

.... and whenever we are really tired :)
