June 15, 2007 - Dairy Days

Our town has a "Dairy Days" Festival every June. On Thursday evening I played percussion in our local symphony for an outdoor concert. Then on Friday, June 15th, Dan and I took the kids to the fair and parade.

Prizes for palying the frog/duck pond. (Krystin's is the yellow car by the pond)

Dan holding Krystin while Ethan and Kaylin rode the whale. Note the red harness on Krystin. I was very glad we brought it along. Miss Krys thinks she can go everywhere and do everything.... without a glance backward for Mom and Dad!

I got to go on one ride. If you look really close you can see me just under the 4th (from left) red horizontal lightening bolt just emerging from behind the machine. It was a great ride. First it spun you really fast forwards, then really fast backwards. I felt like I was in NASA training! ..... And also felt I wasn't in my teens/20's anymore! ha!

Enjoying the parade....well, not really. We were not ON the curb, so the kids weren't that interested. But they DID enjoy the cotton candy!

During the last 1/2 of the parade (we couldn't cross the street to get to our car) we took the kids to play on the park's playground. Dan was in charge of watching the older two, and I watched Krystin. Then it hit me all of a sudden that ALL 3 were going up the stairs, sliding down slides, and running around without Dad and Mom's help. Amazing.

It was a fun family outing. The kids were up a good couple hours past their bedtime - but were well behaved. (who isn't when you get to ride rides, have cotton candy, and play at a park?)

June 07 - Misc

As promised, I am updating the Blog with June and July photos...now that it is August! :)

6/4 - Ethan reading "Ants go Marching" as Krystin claps her hands for the "boom, boom, boom" part ;)

Sunday, June 17 - Fathers' Day

Notice Dan's button "#1 Dad" that Ethan made him in preschool

On Friday, June 22nd, I (Britt) went to a bachelorette party (gal from church) at a cowboy dance club bar. I've always wanted a cowboy hat, and I thought "what better time to get one?". Anyway, that is how we came to own a cowboy hat - that Krystin loves to put on. She's as much my "mini me" as I'm gonna get ;)

6/28 - First time Krystin is in full pigtails. They don't stay in very well, though - so she's back to 1/2 pigtails for now.

The Dining Room Race Track.

The kids LOVE to run/ride/bounce... around our dining room table. Especially after a meal. Below are a couple of cute pics of the older 2 pushing Krystin on the "car". (Although trust me - Krystin can MOVE all on her own. In fact, on walks she keeps up on a similar push-car with Ethan and Kaylin on their scooters!)

Lyle and Sherry's Visit - Part 1 - Picnic at the Resevoir

Lyle and Sherry (Dan's parents) came for a visit from Friday, May 26 through Monday morning, June 4th. We had a great time. On Saturday, May 27th, we went to Lucky Peak. We had a picnic lunch consisting of deli meat sandwiches, chips, green pepper, carrots, and grapes.

Heading down to the beach

Krystin's favorite activity. Filling the watering can and pouring it on the sand. She wasn't too keen on getting her feet emerged in the chilly water, though!

Krystin enlisted Grandma's help in getting water.

(Although Gma was tricky and slowly got Krystin to come in up to just above her ankles!!!)

So Krystin had Dad help get water ;)
Mama and Ethan taking a break in the shade.

Gma helped Kaylin walk out far. Kaylin loved wading in the water.

Lyle and Sherry's Visit - Part 2 - Memorial Day Weekend

The patriotic kids zoned out for a video Sunday afternoon.

Grandma broght the card game "Go Fish". We played it for the first time Sunday afternoon. The kids loved it. The game is now a favorite :) Thanks Grandma.

The girls snagged Grandpa before he could get up from the breakfast table :)

Gpa and Gma bought the kids these cute blankets/animal back packs for their birthday presents. They loved them.

Krystin kept coming up to Grandma, bending over at the waist and putting her head at Grandma's feet. She wanted Grandma to pick her up and twirl her around upside down!!!

On Memorial Day (Monday, May28) we all went to a local park.

Ethan and Kaylin loved to be at the top of the tunnel slide and have Dad come up and get them :)

Dan: "Ethan. Kaylin. Hello"

E and K: "Who are you?" "Who's talking?" :)

Lyle and Sherry's Visit - part 3 - MISC

After searching out the perfect length screw at Lowe's, Grandpa and Ethan mounted his bike bell. Ethan was excited as the bell not only rings, but lights up, too!

Grandma and Ethan bonding :)

Ethan says he is no longer her "butter bug" because he is too old :(

Breakfast time was quite the ordeal while Grandpa was visiting. The kids knew he loved his fruit (mainly bananas and oranges) in the mornings and that meant that with one look from their puppy dog eyes, THEY would get fruit, too! ;)

"Ehhh!!!" (translation: I want some of that banana, too!)

Don't worry. Grandpa didn't forget the baby :)

Wednesday, May 3oth

Krystin liked playing with Grandpa and her new "kitty"

Thursday, May 31st

Waiting for Mom to get ready so her and Dad could leave on their TWO NIGHT Anniversary Get-Away!!!!!! Thanks again Lyle and Sherry for watching the kids for us!

Just before leaving on our mini-trip.

I would just like to note that I DO have other outfits, but it seems I only take pictures in this one! ;)

While Dad and Mom were away, Grandparents and kids played!

Gpa and Gma took the kids on a bike/trike/scooter ride.

Trust me, it TAKES 2 people!!!

Ethan's almost as tall as Grandma!

Look at their feet....and Krystin's through the book.

Kaylin wanted a feet shot, too ;)

Family cuddles just before bedtime on Sat, June 2nd

On Sunday afternoon (June 3) the boys played Monopoly Jr while the girls took naps.

Waking up from nap with Grandma....and Ms. Bunny

Saying goodbye Monday morning, June 4.

Krystin is such a cuddle bug :)
